Free virtual information sessions in Wales

The CWTCH Cymru Project, funded by the Welsh Government, has been delivering virtual information sessions since April.  These are aimed at people with arthritis, their carers and health and social care professionals across Wales, and the programme will be extending through to April 2023. New dates will be confirmed shortly and the team at Cymru Versus Arthritis would like to invite you, your patients with arthritis and their carers to sign up.

All sessions are facilitated by experienced individuals, who are well placed to best meet the needs of people with arthritis and designed to provide information to enable people to increase their confidence in self-managing their condition.

These sessions were developed to ensure that people with arthritis can access information through an accessible format and prevent the need to travel long distances. They support people to improve and maintain their well-being, increase options for preventative and early intervention services and improve the information and advice available.

They are provided free of charge to participants who register through Eventbrite and last for an hour.

Previous sessions have included knee therapy, pain management and the use of gadgets to support everyday living. As these are provided virtually and attendance has been high.

Follow up information or support is also available if required, which includes on-to-one and peer support groups, ensuring people are empowered and supported to live well.

Forthcoming sessions will include diet and nutrition (18 Oct), hand therapy (Nov), osteoarthritis (Dec) and physical activity (Jan 2023), with more to follow.
