PRESS RELEASE: Versus Arthritis welcomes Lizzie D’Angelo as Assistant Director of Engagement

The UK’s largest arthritis charity, Versus Arthritis, has appointed Lizzie D’Angelo as their Assistant Director of Engagement.  

This is a new role for the organisation, which represents more than 10 million people with arthritis, one of the biggest causes of pain and disability in the UK.   

Lizzie will be responsible for leading a strategy that will grow awareness of the charity’s brand, research and work, and fully integrate their marketing, communications, digital, creative and content functions.  

Alastair Graham, Director of Income and Engagement at Versus Arthritis, said: 

“I am delighted that Lizzie has joined Versus Arthritis as our new Assistant Director of Engagement.  

“With her extensive leadership and communications experience, Lizzie is the perfect candidate to drive a refreshed, bold new strategy for the charity.

“Her appointment reflects the ongoing commitment of Versus Arthritis to transform awareness of arthritis, build the charity’s profile and continue to grow our amazing community of supporters.” 

Prior to joining Versus Arthritis, Lizzie spent six years at UK pregnancy and baby loss charity Tommy’s, where she held director roles across marketing, campaigns, external affairs and research. She was responsible for the multi-award-winning Miscarriage Matters campaign, winning the overall Charity Awards Award for Excellence in 2022.   

Lizzie D’Angelo said:

“With many of the issues facing the NHS and our healthcare this is a crucial time to highlight the impact of arthritis, a set of conditions that are too often marginalised and invisible from the public narrative. 

“I look forward to working with my new colleagues, communities and supporters to make a real difference and improve people’s lives.” 

Outside of work, Lizzie is a trustee of Iprovision, a benevolent fund which supports communications professionals facing personal or financial hardship, and is a mentor in the charity sector.
