Dorsal longitudinal scan of MTP joint

The patient sits, knee flexed, sole of foot on examination couch. The transducer is placed longitudinally on the dorsum of the first metatarsophalangeal joint. The metatarsal head and proximal phalynx with extensor tendon are visualised.
