Dorsal transverse scan of MCP joint

The patient sits, hand pronated, arm supported. The probe is placed transversely over the second metacarpophalangeal joint. The extensor tendon and base of phalynx are visualised. The probe may be moved distally and proximally to evaluate the joint.
