In memory of our mum
Mum passed away quite recently. We all loved her very much and a part of us has gone forever. We chose to make a donation to Versus Arthritis in Mum’s memory.
We hope that the contribution made by family and friends will go towards research into this painful and debilitating condition, with the aim of benefiting others. We'd like to share with you a little piece of her life in these next few paragraphs.
About Mum
Mum was a very kind, generous and easy going person. She loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren equally; she loved her family and enjoyed looking after us all. Mum was wonderful.
Mum struggled with arthritis and was in constant pain for most of her life, and I don’t think any of us really understood just how much pain she had to endure. Our Mum was very brave and very, very strong. She never complained about her condition, she just simply got on with it. She refused to let arthritis win.
Arthritis really was all consuming and eventually affected very aspect of her life. When pain became too severe we had to resort to a wheelchair, which didn't go down well at all – Mum didn't see herself as disabled.
We miss Mum; we accept that we always will. She's left a massive gap which will never be filled. Life will move on but never be quite the same without our Mum. She was one in a million.
Kay, Cynthia and all the family.
