The team will bring to life our strategy through an inspiring case for support and an engaging range of propositions and offers for a wide number of different high value markets.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Partnerships Manager in trust, foundation and national lottery fundraising to play a role in our charity’s delivery of an ambitious fundraising target within a highly successful team. This is a hands-on role for someone with demonstrable experience in delivering trust, foundation and lottery income, and in managing relationships with a range of grant-making organisations.

About the role

Researching, writing and presenting funding applications/proposals, and relationship management.

The Strategic Partnerships team is responsible for growing our strategic partnerships portfolio at Versus Arthritis and the contribution our high value partners make to improve the lives of people with arthritis, while supporting our aim to become financially sustainable.

The main aim of the role is to generate income from trust, foundation and lottery sources. You will manage a varied pipeline of donors and be responsible for researching, writing and presenting funding applications and proposals. You will also collaborate with colleagues across internal teams to maximise funding opportunities and ensure effective reporting of funding received, as we strive to transform our income across the organisation.

About you

If your knowledge, skills and experience include the following then we’d love to hear from you:

  • Trust, foundations and national lottery fundraising experience, and a proven track record of securing five and six figure gifts.
  • Experience of devising cultivation and solicitation strategies and managing a portfolio of trust, foundation and lottery prospects.
  • Proven expertise at producing high-quality, tailored proposals and reports to meet the requirements and deadlines of a diverse range of trust and foundation donors and lottery programmes, ensuring high-quality stewardship and development of relationships that result in repeat and increased donations.
  • Proven ability in meeting income targets and achieving financial objectives.
  • Experience of working well under pressure and managing multiple priorities and complex applications.
  • Proven ability to develop good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and be a collaborative team-player.
  • An interest in the work and mission of Versus Arthritis.
  • Experience of using a Customer Relationship Management Database.

*As a hybrid worker the expectation is that you will spend around 40% of your working time in our office spaces or working in community settings. As an inclusive employer we will consider home-based working for anyone where office-based hybrid working would be a barrier to being able to work for us, for example for someone living with a long-term health condition or disability.

About us

We have made a commitment in our Diversity and Inclusion Strategy to increase the diversity of our charity and we welcome candidates from a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences. We want our employees, volunteers and trustees to represent the broad diversity of the communities of which we are a part.

There are over 10 million people living with arthritis. That’s one in six, with over half of those living in pain every single day. The impact is huge as the condition slowly intrudes on everyday life – affecting the ability to work, care for a family, to move free from pain and to live independently. Yet arthritis is often dismissed as an inevitable part of ageing or shrugged off as ‘just a bit of arthritis’. We don’t think that this is OK. Versus Arthritis is here to change that.

Versus Arthritis is committed to keeping children, young people and vulnerable adults safe from harm. During the recruitment process we will undertake safer recruitment practices and relevant checks to ensure applicants are suitable to work with children, young people and vulnerable adults.
